“I really enjoyed the wheelchair rugby day – it was a great experience from start to finish”

The set up was ideal for us having never played before – Some of the players were on hand to meet us and talk us through the day, while the 2 coaches Adam and Mick talked us through Health and safety standards and how to work the wheelchair. These guys are strong! All the wheelchairs were prepared with gloves, vests and a gift which was well received and I immediately felt part of a team.

We did some great drills to learn all aspects of the sport – wheeling, turning, passing, defending and attacking were all covered. I really enjoyed tackling! The game at the end was great fun – and quite competitive! Everyone scored plenty of tries and the game ended in a draw so both sides went away to the pub happy!

Meeting the players who are permanently in wheelchairs really made me see things from a different perspective. Hats off to them! This game is really a great leveller – Its fully inclusive - Anyone can have a go – Thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for something fun and a bit different.”
